Funnest Read In Long Time!

This is not your normal stepbrother romance. It's so much better!
After a bad break-up, good girl Claire throws caution to the wind and has a one-night stand. She can't stop thinking about him, but she'll never find him since she didn't even ask his name. A few months later her soon to be step-father sets up an internship for her, working with his son...Mr. One Night Stand!
Declan is an attorney who never gives a woman a second night. Claire becomes his intern on a case that goes against everything she believes in. The writing in excellent! The banter, the practical jokes, the humor, the back stories and the steamy sex scenes - all are written well!
Even though I choked up a few times, I must say this was the funnest book I've read in a long time! I highly recommend it!

♦️HERO: Declan Riordan, 27--Lawyer at his father's law firm. He's cocky, flirty, playful, charming, smart, huge, muscular, covered in tattoos, with dark blue eyes, unruly black hair.
♦️HEROINE: Claire Anderson, 21--Intern, about to begin law school. She's smart, witty, snarky, tough, with deep red curly hair, dark brown eyes, curvy body.
♦️PLOT: Declan and Claire meet at a party and have a hot one night stand. Several months later, Claire begins her internship at her soon-to-be stepfather's law firm and comes face to face with Declan, her new stepbrother and boss. He flirts with Claire, they bicker, play pranks on each other, get to know each other, have a sexy time or two, butt heads some more and work on a big controversial case together. Claire's ex causes some major problems.
♦️REVIEW: This is one of the best stepbrother romances that I've read. It's funny, it's playful, it's sexy and I really loved that it had some substance to it. The parents are likable characters, unlike some other stepbrother books where they tend to be really awful.
♦️STEAM LEVEL: hot, 4/5 - explicit sex scenes
♦️ENDING: HEA, Epilogue - 3 years later, No cliffhanger

Both characters were pretty annoying

I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. This is my first book by this author and the writing was good. It is written in alternating pov's. The story line was a little over the top and annoying at times with their childish behavior for people in their twenties, one an attorney. I felt the characters had much more potential to make the book good but it fell short with the dumb office pranks.
Claire breaks up with her boyfriend and meets a stranger at a frat party and has a one night stand with him. Four months later she walks into the strangers office and meets her new boss, an attorney she is interning for and her future stepbrother Declan. They are still attracted to each other but instead of being adults they start pranking each other in the office to get at each other. Her old boyfriend makes an appearance and tries to blackmail her with a sex tape which causes drama at their parents wedding.
Claire was rather weak in her always succumbing to Declan after all he does to her. Her kissing him for no reason at her ex boyfriends parents party and causing a fight was just out of character for the situation. I kept waiting for her to get a backbone and for him to be less of a jerk. They do however get their HEA with a epilogue set 3 years in the future. She has finished law school and they are getting married. Maybe they can be grown ups now.
