Keisha loves working with clients in the areas of life purpose, business, relationships, and spirituality. Keisha hosts a popular women’s life coaching group and facilitates two entrepreneur coaching groups. Keisha is also a Reiki Master, medium, speaker and has been an intuitive consultant for over 20 years. She received her BA from California State University, Northridge in Political Science. When she’s not coaching clients, you’ll find Keisha teaching intuitive development classes, reading, traveling, shopping, eating pizza and/or chocolate, doing energy work, and talking to dead people. Fantastic book, did not want to put it down.

If you are looking for a book that inspires you and helps you find your inner strength and super power, this is the book you have been looking for. I have been looking for all kinds of self-improvement and self-discovery books and was fortunate to have The Little Book of Big MOJO by Keisha Gallegos come up in my search. Her no nonsense approach to finding what has been holding you back and ways to get you moving forward again is incredibly refreshing. I would highly recommend going through the exercises in this book as they were very helpful. The different chapters on what some of your Mojo killers are was very insightful and I can't wait to put what I have learned from her book into practice. This is one of those books that you sit down to read and don't want to put it down.

A fun and helpful book!

Reading this book was like spending a day with a girlfriend! I laughed out loud and had many lightbulb moments! Keisha has a rare gift of making the self help genre enjoyable and useful! Nothing about this book is boring or preachy! If you are having trouble finding your MOJO, or even if you just need a little boost in your day, read this book! You will learn a lot about yourself and have a good time doing it!

This book is so REFRESHINGLY REAL for a self-coaching book and I highly recommend it! It’s not full of platitudes and hollow advice bellowed down at you from the mountaintops by some self congratulating guru who pretends to have it all figured out. There is a REAL woman writing this book and she knows what’s up here down on planet earth!! Hallelujah! In reading this book, I felt I had a friend and ally who deeply understands what it’s like to feel lost and completely uncertain about who you are and what you have to offer.

She distills the process of discovering your unique MOJO (Magical Original Joyful Offering) into really easily digestible chapters full of stories about her own experiences and her clients over many years of life coaching and incorporates FUN exercises that you actually want to DO! [P.S. Get ready for some impactful insights to be uncovered with them. I found Chapter 12’s look into MOJO Killer #5 “It Is What It Is” about areas in your life where you are “settling” to be particularly stirring and profound for me.]

The way she supports you along the road of self-discovery in her enchanting way also feels empowering because while imbued with humor and levity, she has the balls to acknowledge a really important thing that may be affecting you on the road to self-discovery - depression!! (Hello!?) I’m SO grateful she devotes a whole chapter to this with such honesty and compassion because, let’s face it, if you are having trouble figuring out your way in this world you have probably been ensnared in the grip of depression on some level. So, with that included, it’s like she really sees and “gets” all of what may be affecting you in this struggle to find your MOJO and has you covered!

If you are trying out for Clinic or Senior Region/All State Band in South Carolina, this is the book in which your etude is located and from which you must play it (you must have the original-not a copy). If you do not know what this is, do not worry about it.

Elkins considers how the principal concepts of perspective have been rewritten in work by Erwin Panofsky, Hubert Damisch, Martin Jay, Paul Ricoeur, Jacques Lacan, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, and E. H. Gombrich. The Poetics of Perspective illustrates that perspective is an unusual kind of subject: it exists as a coherent idea, but no one discipline offers an adequate exposition of it. Rather than presenting perspective as a resonant metaphor for subjectivity, a painter's tool without meaning, a disused historical practice, or a model for vision and representation, Elkins proposes a comprehensive revaluation. The perspective he describes is at once a series of specific pictorial decisions and a powerful figure for our knowledge of the world.

academic, but worth the effort

Apparently condensed from a multi-volume doctoral dissertation, this book is both over and under inclusive. Elkins displays encyclopedic knowledge of his field in order to support the important and worthwhile point he makes in the introduction, but also leaves out much of the very technical detail that would have been needed to convince his fellow PH.D.s. One could just read the intro and the envoi to get the lesson Elkins hopes to teach, but I'm glad i stuck with it for the long haul through the intervening chapters. A book for those who are serious about the history of western culture.

A Model of Inquiry

I first read this book for the information I thought it might contain, and as a validation of the investigations in perspective that I was - and still am - pursuing. Recently, I picked up this book again, and now see that it is a model of skillful inquiry. Elkins may or may not have solved my previous puzzles of perspective, but he has provided me with an insight to rhetorical strategies - used to discuss "perspective" as a concept or practice - but has created a chaotic literature.
We have all encountered the cross-section of half-complete treatments of subjects in the arts; it would seem that obscurity is the preferred norm. It is meant to add mystery and dignity to its favorite topics. This is the entry "Into the Maelstrom of Metaphor" that Elkins invites us. He carefully lists three alternatives, and chooses the middle path of "critical rationalism" for his book. This serves well to simultaneously preserve the ambiguities that history has provided and to catalog some of its graphic and methodological products as regard perspective. This is not just a balanced approach, but also a model of thinking that makes us feel more intelligent and fair as readers.

Not about the Renaissance view of Perspective in Art

Rauschenbach writes as a physicist, and as is often the case, scientists have major deficits when dealing with art. The deficits are not few nor minor. Perspective was viewed as being of major significance when informed by performative rhetoric. Perspective, as with architecture, was influenced by Platonism as well as the philosophical views of the Pythagoreans. For example, room sizes had to be harmonically correct (length, width, height), not only deal with perspective alone. Photography (optics) may have a scientific way to deal with focal length to obtain optimal similarity, scale and depth with one-point linear perspective, but "horned" perspective with two- or even 3-vanishing points introduces additional considerations. Use of anamorphisms in painting, as in the famous painting "The Ambassadors" by Holbein cannot simply be forgotten (deliberate distortions of linear perspective). Lastly, perspective was used in perspective-theatres, causing problems as well As a book dealing with optics in photography, this book is fine, but a reader should not confuse this by thinking the book deals with art.

This book solidly refutes the widely disseminated arguement that al-Qaeda is a medieval, tribal organization. Gray is spot-on in his assessment. There are few organizations - violent or not - as modern as al-Qaeda. John Arquilla's and David Ronfeldt's works on networks support this.
For people trying to understand the threat to the US, percieving our adversaries as 'in the stone age' isn't going to get us very far.
This book was money well spent.

Modern horrors

Is the title of this book misleading? Clearly the emphasis of the book is on 'what it means to be modern' and 'Al Qaeda' is only used sparingly (but in my opinion very tellingly) to illustrate the main thesis. Thats not to say the title wont shift more copies with Al Qaeda in there, but if you're an intelligent and open-minded reader then you should come away from this book having been presented with a novel perspective on the modern world and having learnt something new, or at least a new argument, about the underlying nature and rational of a truly modern and global terrorist movement. Gray spends a lot of time arguing that Islamism is a product of a way of thinking that did not exist pre-enlightenment, and it seems most reviewers are focusing on this part of the argument. But to me, the more interesting (and convincing) arguments here concern al qaeda's existance as a product not only of modern thinking but of globalisation ie their ability to exploit failed states, global communications such as the internet, and of the international movement of people, money and arms. Thus the meaning of al qaeda is placed within the framework of the world view presented in 'straw dogs' - rather than technology and globablisation marching the world forwards into an era of democracy and peace, they will simply continue history along its usual course of conflict and suffering, only yet more bloodily

"S. Jay Kuder, Ed-D." S. Jay Kuder holds a doctoral degree in applied psycholinguistics from Boston University, where he studied with Dr. Paula Menyuk. His research interests continue to be in the field of language and reading development and disorders. Dr. Kuder is currently the Interim Dean of the Graduate School at Rowan University. He was formerly the chairperson of the Department of Special Educational Services/ Instruction at Rowan.

Dr. Kuder is the author of a textbook entitled "Teaching Students with Language and Communication Disabilities," published by Allyn and Bacon. His current research focuses on the literacy skips of children with mental retardation.

He is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children and the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association and is a fellow of the American Association on Mental Retardation, where he has held various positions in the Communication Disorders subdivision.

"Cindi Hasit, Ph.D." Cindi Hasit holds a doctoral degree in Language in Education and Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied with Dr. Morton Botel. Her research interests continue to be in the field of reading disabilities and appropriate assessments and instruction for at-risk learners. Dr. Hasit is currently the chairperson of the Department of Reading at Rowan University, and was Director of the Rowan University Reading Clinic.

Dr. Hasit is the author of several articles on reading development. Her current research focuses on classroom assessment of literacy behaviors.

She is a member of the International Reading Association, the College Reading Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Unique and candid...

I did not expect such a precious little story when I bought this! Frances befriends a lonely little robin and shares the joyous experience with the readers. It is quite evident that Frances understood the value of life and the importance of caring for every creature we share our earth with. I truly wish I was more sensitive so that I could have cried over the ending in the way it deserved to be wept over! An absolute treasure and a very brief read. It is appropriate for ages 7 and up.

This sweet little book, really a short story is true. I found it to be so very charming and endearing as a remembrance of friendship with nature. How if we are very patient and quiet, a wild bird can become a very close friend. In these loud and busy times it is right to take a breather and contemplate in a garden, where if we are so fortunate, we may encounter our own commune with a feathered friend.
