Kyra Pappas has some sad twists to her life and more to come, but she keeps putting one foot in front of the other. She's determined to find new adventures and pieces of her past. When her journey leads her to Greece, to say there are some surprises awaiting her is an understatement, including a very tempting marriage proposal from a Greek tycoon. 

Enchanting is the word that comes to mind when Cristo Kiriakas meets Kyra. She has an easy way about her that draws him in and has him thinking that this maid is exactly the person he needs to make his hotel empire legendary. But his plan just might backfire on him when their kiss for the cameras strikes sparks in both of them that are impossible to extinguish.

A pleasant weekend read

I’m not sure I’ve ever read a bad book from Harlequin. When I’m in the mood for a solid read, I tend to reach towards Harlequin. While these days it’s hard to find an original theme in a story, what the author does with that theme makes all the difference. With The Greek’s Ready-Made Wife, the story is about a fake engagement to help along a business deal. But since we’re talking about a romance, we know that we’re going to end up with a happily ever after. This is in no way original, but Ms Faye engaged my emotions and filled the journey with enough twists and turns to make it a memorable and enjoyable read.

Kyra and Cristo end up being just what each other needs. Kyra’s a bit more free-spirited than the rigid Cristo. He needs her to pull him out of constantly thinking about work. And she needs him to be in her corner as she deals with her family. These two together just worked and I enjoyed watching as they tried to navigate their growing feelings against the situation they found themselves in. I kept turning the pages to see how they were going to finally declare their love and turn the engagement real.

All in all, this book was a pleasant weekend read that grabbed me from page one. The Greek setting added to the romance and I’m actually looking forward to returning to Greece with the next book in the series.

This is a great romance treat when you need a quick happy ever after fix. I like the theme of the ‘marriage of convenience’ that catches both parties by surprise by turning real. I never know how it’s going to come about and in The Greeks’ Ready-Made Wife I was pleasantly amazed. This story has a flavor of O. Henry’s famous theme and a bit of Horatio Alger thrown in too.

The conflict is mixed with a family betrayal, tragedy and loss, and a child’s yearning for a parent’s forgiveness and acceptance even into adulthood. The story is told by both Kyra and Cristo’s point of view, but it’s mostly through Kyra’s because her character has the most to lose and gain depending how things go.

I enjoyed watching Kyra and Cristo’s non-relationship evolve, grow and change into true friendship. I liked how Kyra slowly, gently showed Cristo that there was more to life than work and she helped him gradually understand what he really was missing in life. He might be rich, influential and driven, but he was more than that and he deserved more than what he was settling for in his life. The heroine had the most to gain but Cristo needed change the most. Their growing romance was beautiful to watch.

Another beautiful aspect of this tale was the opportunity for healing, understanding and the promise of new beginnings. The Greeks’ Ready-Made Wife is full of positive vibes and love. I enjoyed the dialogue, the sweet humor and the many leveled happy ever after. I recommend this romance story to readers who want to satisfy their need for a feel good theme; The Greeks’ Ready-Made Wife delivers.

NOT A BOOK! Waste of money and time!

First of all, this is NOT a book. It is a 20 page pamphlet. I read the entire thing in about 10 minutes. I am so disappointed in this purchase! The "book" provided very cursory information about the personality type...nothing beyond what you can find via a simple Google search for INFJ. This is really a waste of $7 and a complete joke. There was truly nothing of value in this, and I did not gain any new knowledge.

I never heard of this kind of personality before.I only heard this from a talk show I watched last week ,so I looked for this in amazon if there is a book about this personality and I choose this book for its cover.This book gives me a nice quick guide to this rare personality.This book had a good read to platform off of. I will definitely recommend this book to anyone who is an INFJ and wants to get started in exploring their uniqueness. The author gives you lists of characters that belonged to INFJ and explains the strengths and weaknesses of this particular personality as well as the types of employment that this kind of person is better suited to. And the book offers a good overview for anyone involved with or wanting to better understand this personality type. It is clear that lots of research went into the planning of this book and I am sure that any personality type will benefit from applying the tips that are share.This book is a useful read.

Seth Rudetsky is a Broadway God!

Seth's charm and magic makes Broadway that closer to home wherever you are through his writing. I started listening to him on Sirius XM and then started watching his masterclasses and deconstructions. This book is a must-have for anyone who keeps up with the broadway buzz and you learn things about your favorite stars that you would've never known before. So in short, Seth Reudetsky is a Broadway God!

My Broadway loving son loved it!

Common sense welfare beats scientific justification

FIVE, or even six, stars for the argumentation, but I have given four stars only because it will take a fair amount of scientific knowledge and stamina to read. Rollin is well known in the animal welfare field. His argument, developed in repeated minute detail, is that scientists who experiment on animals are so closed off from reality, and have such a vested interest in deluding themselves that animals don't suffer, that they are the only people who can't see the blindingly obvious - that animals feel pain pretty much the same way that we do.
For scientists, and especially anyone dealing with animals in any way, I would consider this book mandatory reading. It counterbalances all the dry science about how animals work with a a good look at how they think.
For non-graduates it's too technical. Words like paradigmatic and ontological come thick and fast.

John A. Kostelac, Jr. (Houston, TX) has been applying his expertise as an Oracle DBA for close to 10 years. John is Consulting Senior Principal Instructor for Oracle Corporation in Dallas.

Kirtikumar Deshpande currently works as a Senior Principal Consultant in the Advanced Technology Solutions group at Oracle Corporation. He has more than 28 years of experience in the Information Technology field, including more than 15 years with Oracle. He co-authored "Oracle Performance Tuning 101" and "Oracle Wait Interface: A Practical Guide to Performance Tuning & Diagnostics" published by Oracle Press. Finally .... a book that talks about bottlenecks!!!!

I must own every Oracle book ever written so I know how difficult it is to find information on treating the disease instead of the symptoms. Anyone who doesn't find this to be one of the most valuable books in their collection clearly is set in the old school ways of just checking hit ratios. I have followed along with many of the examples and am extremely grateful for the accuracy .... it's as if Gaja & Kirti are working with you. I've already recommended this book to my colleagues and would highly advise it to anyone who not only wants to gain a more efficient approach to tuning but needs a little humor to keep the interest going.

Excellent book

This guy has a clue. "Good" ratios don't mean anything if the users are complaining. EXAMINE THE WAIT STATS. Anyway, this fellow is an Oracle genius and actually has a sense of humor. Loved his explanation of pctfree/pctused. Even a child could understand it!
My big complaint though (and the reason this did not get 5 stars) is that the #&)@! book falls apart. The binding is cheap or something. I have other books in this series and they have all fallen apart too. I guess Elmers Glue doesn't work on 400 page books. Other than that, awesome book.

Gaja's book will educate, entertain and inspire you to learn all about the Oracle "wait interface". I've implemented Gaja's techniques and achieved significant performance gains with problematic SQL and non-optimally tuned Unix and NT systems. This is a must have book for Oracle DBAs and Oracle Developers responsible for database/server tuning.
